ABLE Account

Patrice Icardi, Attorney at Law, discusses the newly implemented ABLE account in Alaska. ABLE accounts allow individuals with a physical or cognitive disability to save money while remaining Medicaid eligible.

Click HERE to be directed to the Alaska Legal Services website and the training on Miller’s Trust which is a trust for those who are over the Medicaid allowance income to do an income trust to qualify.  You do need an attorney but the training will guide you through what the trust is. This classroom also has a training on Social Security Disability.

Click HERE to be directed to the True Link website.  True Link is a financial planning company but they offer a service that can be helpful to anyone assisting someone with their finances.  The True Link debit card is a card you load money onto for a person to spend yet you can receive updates on use via your smart phone or computer.  You can limit amounts someone can spend or the types of stores.  This allows for some financial freedom yet the oversight that is sometimes necessary.
