Petitioning for guardianship or conservatorship should be the option of last resort. You can find out more about alternatives to guardianship and alternatives to conservatorship on the court website. You can be directed to the forms below. PG-100 is the petition to file if you wish to have some level of guardianship and conservatorship however, if you only need conservatorship, PG-104 can be filed.
If you believe that there is an immediate risk of harm, there is the emergency petition for guardianship or conservatorship and this needs to be filed with the correct full petition (PG100 or PG 104). If the issue is not an emergency but there needs to be a decision or task made sooner than later, you can file PG-108, Motion for a Hearing on a Shortened Time Frame. This too needs to be filed with a full petition.
